This blog chronicles the life and times of a married pair of nerds (one a computer nerd, the other in medical school) and their one-eyed pet, Hondo. Previously, this pair of nerds had a settled life in a 200 year old house where they put much love and sweat into projects (some over their head). Med school had a way of changing their life plans, so... So long old house, your walls served them well while they lived there.

Project Extension
"The project has been extended...". These are the words that any wife with a husband traveling for business is loathe to hear (or at least me). As of today, the soonest I am "guaranteed" to see my husband is 1 week before his brother's wedding, at which point midsummer will have come and gone. As Pete is on the other side of the globe, it is not realistic to go see him for a weekend. Due to planned 18-20 hour work days, I can't justify traveling 26 hours to sit in a hotel in solitude. Here's to hoping that the project is done sooner, and *perhaps* we will be able to make a vacation out of this misfortune.

Ooh, tough news, Heidi! I hope you can find enough things to do to keep you occupied until Pete comes home! I must say that I was very impressed to read that you did all that work on your driveway by yourself! Way to go!!!!!

Wow...that is a long time to be away from your husband! I bet you'll enjoy having him home once he makes it back. And hopefully you can fit a vacation in for just the two you at some point this summer! I hope the time goes by fast until he's back in the states.
So sorry to hear that!! Keep yourself busy!
Thank you for your comments, I do appreciate them! I am thankful for my dog and cat, and that we live in an old house just brimming with "projects"... However, I remain hopeful that this is only a 2-3 week extension and I see him before the "guaranteed" deadline! Heidi
Bummer, sorry to hear that. It's rough feeling like Jeff's gone every weekday but I can't imagine him being gone that long! Hope you find things to keep you busy, have people come over lots! :)
Bummer, you should make a trip this way - I promise we'll entertain you. Take care and keep busy
I feel your pain Heidi and believe me some day you'll look back on these days and say, "how did I do it?" Staying busy seems to always be the key, doesn't it. Hang in there, you'll do it!
